Steven M. Light
Raised in Fargo, North Dakota, Steve Light, the co-founder of the Larivee & Light Law Firm, put himself through college and graduated with honors from the University of North Dakota in 1993 with a Bachelors of Science in Speech. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1996. Steve's legal skills and his passion and drive were recognized while he was still in law school. This resulted in Steve being invited to work with North Dakota's most celebrated criminal defense attorney, Alan Larivee, serving as Mr. Larivee's law clerk while still in law school.
Having been wrongly accused and eventually acquitted of a crime in his youth, Steve has an "insider's" perspective of the challenges facing his clients. His first-hand experience with the profoundly flawed justice system he encountered fueled his desire to focus his legal practice exclusively on criminal defense. In 1998, he and his mentor, Al Larivee, established their own firm, Larivee and Light, to use all of their skills to provide the best defense possible for their clients.
